Welcome to the 2nd Annual Thomas D. Avery Road Hawg Benefit Ride

The 2011 scholarship has been awarded!

The 2011 Thomas D. Avery Road Hawg Scholarship has been awarded to Tarah A. DiBenedetto of Roxbury Central School.

Tarah met all the requirements and was chosen by our committee because she has proven that she is a dedicated and focused individual.

Tarah is an excellent student and did a lot of research to find out about the criminal justice field and where she can go with her future career. She will be majoring in forensic science at C.W. Post campus in Brookville, NY. Tarah hopes to enter the forensic science field in the New York City area to then work her way up to the federal government level.
She has served as president of the National Honor Society her senior year in high school as well as served as a student council representative for four years. Tarah was very active in sports and several other community activities.

The committee of the Thomas D. Avery Road Hawg Scholarship Fund would like to Congratulate Tarah and wish her luck as she breaks forth on her first year of college.

Family and friends of the late Thomas D. Avery have formed a scholarship fund in his memory and are planning a benefit motorcycle ride and barbeque called “The Thomas D. Avery Road Hawg Benefit Ride.” In order to combine his two passions of motorcycle riding and law enforcement, we have created this event and scholarship in his honor and memory. The benefit ride is to raise money for a scholarship that will be awarded to a local student(s) who will be furthering their education in the criminal justice or law enforcement field.
